END TIMES? Nope.

Today is June 6, 2006... or 6/6/06. Why people put so much stressing into dates is still beyond me.

It doesn't matter when Christ returns. All that does matter is that He will return, eventually. We are not to know when... only God knows that. Instead of dwelling on 'the end of the world', live each day as if it was your last. Live each day for Christ. Live each day with God as the most important thing, and live each day in a sincere effort to do good works and bring the message of Salvation to the world. Show compassion towards your fellow man. Be an instrument of peace. Feed the hungry, comfort the widows, protect the innocent children, and offer praises to the Lord for all that he has blessed you with.

If you live out each day in this manner, you will not have to worry about the Final Day. Christ will be walking with you, and you with Him. I've said it over and over... if you don't feel close to God, guess who moved.

To me, this Final Day nonsense makes as much sense as the gun freaks whining about registering on a Federal database. If you are not doing anything wrong, and are following the laws, you have nothing to worry about. No one is going to storm your house and take away your gun. Likewise, if you follow God's laws, and strive to refrain from sin (but remember to humble yourself and ask God to forgive you when you do screw up), the last day is not something to fear. If it happens in our lifetime, we should rejoice and be glad in it!

Don't sit in your darkened house, wailing and hiding from the world, in a state of worry that the world is going to end on June 6. This isn't what God wants. God wants you to go out into the world and do your work, with joy in Him in your heart. God wants you to breathe deep in the Holy Spirit, and to be a blessing and an example of Christ to those you meet each day.

The Day and Hour Unknown
Matthew 23:36-44 (Jesus said) "No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left.

"Therefore keep watch, because you do not know on what day your Lord will come. But understand this: If the owner of the house had known at what time of night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into. So you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour when you do not expect him.

We won't know... and can't... know everything

Ecclesiastes 8:16-17 When I applied my mind to know wisdom and to observe man's labor on earth -his eyes not seeing sleep day or night- then I saw all that God has done. No one can comprehend what goes on under the sun. Despite all his efforts to search it out, man cannot discover its meaning. Even if a wise man claims he knows, he cannot really comprehend it.

Someone I know took this day off work over a year ago? Come on. If the Son does not know of the hour why are we so worried about a day?

Amen Moneybags. People freak over the stupidest things. I can remember a whole bunch of people who spent December 31, 1999 - Jan 2, 2000 in a frikken basement, clutching their bibles and children because the world was going to end.

A friend pointed out this morning that, every day... we have 6:06:06 am... and the world doesn't end each morning. She is totally right on that point.

Good post Thane. We've been told If We Are Prepared We Shall Not Fear. So as long as we're in the right place and doing what is pleasing to the Lord what difference does it make when the End Times come? I do know there are things that must come to pass before that time, but that could happen fast. As you said, God does not move from us so if anyone moves, it is us. It's my plan to stay close to the Lord and await his coming. BiddyBabyKelly

I agree with you on this one...and I am suprised by the ignorance of people AND the media. Revelation clearly states that 666 is the number of a man NOT a calendar date...what about the 2 in the year 2006? The media even said (CNN) that this was the number of the devil!? No... and thank the Lord we will not know the day and hour our Lord cometh.

In Christ,
